The pilot does hear …
The pilot does hear the sound of the plane, of course. The air inside the plane and its structure transmit it.
It’s just the same as in a car: a person outside will hear a weeeeeoooouuuu as it goes by, but the person driving it will just hear the motor as it sounds: grrrrrrrrr

costly yes, half …
costly yes, half the passenger yes… but was it a profit? yes.
just that it isnt a confortable ride and it needed to be updated which there was no point

its too bad the …
its too bad the people inside of it cant hear it.lol
June 8th, 2009
Concorde was …
Concorde was more-or-less waiting for an excuse to retire the line, they were costly to maintain and couln’t hold half the passengers that normal jets could

Can you imagine …
Can you imagine what it must sound like if you were near the plane as it hit Mach 1 if that is how loud it is from that far away?

@Shahzeb2007 : …
@Shahzeb2007 : That’s the point of breaking the sound barrier. You go at least as fast as the sound, so it can’t reach you. The same thing happens in military ssonic fighters. When they passe the sound barrier, pilot didn’t hear anything else coming from outside, even the reactor.

fittaslickar, you …
fittaslickar, you are actually wrong. The TU-144, or charger, was flawed in design. The wings were not aerodynamic, it was weighted down with unnecessary technology, overall it was a failure, which is why it was discontinued in 1984, unlike the Concorde, 2003.

Oh my good the …
Oh my good the passengers bust be deaf.wait concorde is supersonic speed so the sound probably couldnt reach there ears
June 8th, 2009
no, they either …
no, they either stay at a speed below mach or they just don’t gain enough speed until later on in the flight
June 8th, 2009
No, if you’re going …
No, if you’re going faster than the speed of sound, it doesn’t catch up to you…
June 8th, 2009
Actually, when the …
Actually, when the happens the cabin of the plane is silent.
June 8th, 2009
actually concord …
actually concord was badly designed from the start. there was a russian design that was much better for supersonic travel. but unfortunately under cold war era you couldnt give the contract to the soviets even if it was better. plane was called TU-144 or (concordski) lol. but like all things russian was built badly despite great planning

dude it was …
dude it was probabely jets from turkey. they like violating airspace over cyprus, greece and anywhere else they think they can fly over and provoke. it happens all the time

i would myself …
i would myself if i was on that flight and that noise went of

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!
June 8th, 2009
i remember watching …
i remember watching modern marvels and they talked about flying on the concorde, and they said on the back of every seat is a digital speedometer so the passangers can see how fast they are going, and the only thing they can tell that they are mach 1 or 2 is when it hits mach one, you hear a dim bang, outside its much much louder, as showed in this video!

Thinner air at the …
Thinner air at the very high altitude, plus the speed of sound up there is different from sea level
June 8th, 2009
Sounded almost …
Sounded almost exactly like a gunshot. Awesome. But why are there two booms?

Concorde climbed up …
Concorde climbed up to aboiut 26000feet wiuthout afterburners then the burners werde started while concorde climed higher and higher and kept untill mach1.7. Then they were deactivated the rest of speeding up was done witthout them but with full throttle.
