What aviation headset has the best noise reduction?
Author: admin Category: Noise ReductionI'm building a Skypup ultralight equipped with a two-stroke Rotax 277. Being located about 3 feet away from the screaming engine, it will be bloody noisy. I'll need a headset that can block out as must noise as possible. Doing some research, I found out that the Telex Stratus 50 can block out 50 db of noise. This will work for me, but I'm wondering if there's a headset that has even better noise cancellation. Your answer is appreciated.
I agree with Tommy, the Bose Aviation X, but it is the only noise reduction headset that I've tried. It was almost as good as sex. They claim scores of 95% @ 115db whatever that means. Cost is close to $1000.

I love my Bose Aviation X although make sure the batteries are fresh. I once left on a flight with dying batteries and once they died the headset was pretty much useless, but with good batteries no headset comes close.
