Should I pay an extra $50 for my new gaming computer to have noise reduction?

I am about to buy a new one and I have no clue why I should do that? Are computers louder then last year?
Me personally.. I would not. I would take that $50 save it for some liquid cooling… then you can just take most of the fans out and that will be your noise reduction right there. At least then you would be spending your money on something that would benefit you.

Personally I’d say it depends on the location of the computer. If it’s off in a spare room or dining room where you don’t mind a bit of extra noise then sure, don’t pay the extra but if it’s going to reside in the living room where the noise of the fans can (and probably will) cause a nuisance to other residents then I think I’d pay the money.
Gaming computers, by definition, are power hungry and all that power creates a lot more heat than the average desktop PC produces. They therefore carry more fans to get rid of said heat and they can create a surprising amount of noise.
