Noise reduction .?
Author: admin Category: Noise ReductionI have found a commercial property to rent a room in for my business. It is in a dental practise in a busy location with other therapists (nobody offering the same treatments) .The only thing that’s stopping me is that the building has old sash windows and does not keep out the noise of traffic. Is there a cheap way of resolving this issue? as the place is perfect in every other way for me but this is a big issue because my clients need to be able to relax deeply for one particular treatment.
They make heat-shrink clear plastic to give more insulation value to windows, which would help insulating against noise as well. You might even be able to put it outside as well.

your best option is to spend the little extra for new windows
( you’ll get what you pay for )
which will be the much needed " quiet time "
it just may be the most feasible thing to do when you have a great location
if you WORK IT OUT WITH THE PROPRIETOR FIRST you may get your windows price deducted from your rent; I don’t think you want to take them with you when you decide to leave

Maybe buy a pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones or similar, dunno if you can get them or similar that you can mike into as well.
I assume its for hypnotherapy or similar.

Unless you need the light, hang some heavy curtains on the windows. That will give you insulation from heat/cold, drafts, and noise.
