need help with noise reduction?

Author: admin Category: Noise Reduction

I would like to know if anyone knows if foam padding is any good to stop noise thrugh a window? or if anyone knows of something else that would work.

The stuff that looks like egg crates works good. You want something shaped like that so it will break down the sound waves. You will never see a flat wall in a recording studio.

The best solution is bat insulation. If you don’t want to deal with the fibre-glass variety, there are new types manufactured from recycled cloth or plastic. And you can cut it to fit any sized window. As well, using insulation has the added benefit of helping to regulate your room’s temperature; heat transfer is at its greatest at windows and doors.
