Author: admin Category: Noise Reduction
FJA Mods modified Peavey 6505 with solo boost on lead channel and noise reduction circuit. This amp also has a tone shift mod. Solo boost was set up to turn on when the loop was engaged and only functions on the lead channel.

I set the presence …
I set the presence on 9. I wouldn’t put it anywhere below that. I play with the speakers level with my ears and it’s far from harsh. It seems to be tapered so that the lower settings are subtle while the upper settings are drastic.

i know that’s the …
i know that’s the function. but below 8 it seems to do absolutely nothing. i didn’t know if i had to actually push the presence up so high on every 6505 to get a chunkier sound or what. thanks for the info.

when presence is …
when presence is raised, it sounds closer and lowered it sounds her away, therefore if you lower it below 8 it seems like its muffled or, far away

The solo boost just …
The solo boost just adds volume. On this amp the solo boost function only works on the lead channel. This is foot switchable.

This friggin thing …
This friggin thing sounds phenomenal! One question, does the lead boost just boost gain or does it raise the volume of the amp? I have a 6505+ and the thing needs to be heard when it comes to solo time. Do you have some sort of foot switchable mod to make that a reality?
