the best is definitely sound proof studio foam, but in a better price range, line the walls with heavy curtains, blankets, thick carpet (the thicker the better), or any other thick porous material. my favorite is the curtains; in black velvet

Many years ago our school needed sound deadened walls. We collected the paper type cartons for a dozen eggs. The tops were opened and we stapled them to the walls and ceiling. It was nearly free and worked quite well. Today someone might do the same thing but first cover the walls with sterofoam.

If you can afford it I reccomend purchasing professional sound proof tiles or baffles, if you don’t have a lot of money: an old carpet or two along the walls is really helpful.
