Hi Riverman, the best way to soundproof an interior is to replace the existing walls with a special soundproof drywall which is now commercially available via specialty lumber outlets. Google ’soundproof drywall’, for more info. Another consideration is acoustics; audio foam panels are useful for controlling undesirable resonation coming from walls and ceiling. This will make your mixes sound more convincing and balanced as long as you apply fx and eq properly. I hope that helps.

For the amount of distance between houses, the objective was accomplished. I have been using my studio 3 nights a week and I haven’t gotten a single complaint. But as to what I would use next time, I would probably go with soundproof drywall, I heard it is a soundstopper in itself.
