It’s all synthetic …
It’s all synthetic rubber. It will have a slight smell of rubber but I wouldn’t be too worried about it. You must place it behind drywall for it to work effectively. I would not paint it as it will be pointless to have a soundproofing agent on your walls. Will you be able to create an airtight space by creating a new wall? Let me know! I’m happy to help. We make sure we tell all of our customers, if they build a server room, to have cool ventilation such as an AC unit. We have one in our office and the AC runs 24/7 because it gets super hot.

Now that the server …
Now that the server room is soundproof, you should put in an industrial air conditioner. Your servers are sensitive to heat. You need to keep them cold in a room that small or they will fail. Think sound-proof refrigerator for a total solution to your sound problem. Otherwise, you sacrifice your company’s data for silence.

It wouldn’t …

Peacemaker is …
Peacemaker is effective for this, but typically it is installed behind drywall. I am not sure if this is possible. If you own, build out the wall and include Peacemaker w/ your solution. Call our experts as to how to do this. If you rent, use can Peacemaker directly on the walls. It adds mass to the structure very effectively. I recently purchased peacemaker for my home theater and it works amazingly well. We installed in the walls as well as the ceiling (my daughter’s room is above the theater). No complaints from my daughter (at least about the noise!). Great product, great price, nice people to deal with!
