egg crate and cups give a TERRIBLE sound treatment and little to no sound proofing. the shape of them will kill some treble waves but really won’t do jack for bass waves. arualex and similar products are made of high density foams that absorb certain frequencies. not all frequencies are dealt with in the same way.
