    The NT1A is a reputable mic and combined with the insulator…you should be fine. You should avoid noise sources like windows whenever possible.

    That was very helpful thank you. I’ve just purchased a NT1A Rode mic and a mic Insulator much like the one you show at 7:43. Hopefully i won’t need to sound proof the whole room, the mic was $520 and the insulator around $300, do you think it’ll serve me well?? i’m a vocalist looking at putting together my own home studio. i’ll have my own room soon in which to set it up. Any other tips before i start setting everything up?? i’ve heard you shouldn’t set it up near any windows, is that true?
