home studio tour

I built a wall with a window and made a nice little studio in my basement. Its not soundproof, but its a nice comfortable room to record in. Here is a small tour.

    I’ll guess there is no studio “B” so, you wouldn’t need to call it Studio “A” …. you could call it your home studio… lol

    Actually mixers are very cheap. This little peavey was only $169 brand new !
    See my “home studio tour new” where I now use a much bigger 18 channel Behringer board which is under $400 new !
    I got it used off kijiji (in new condition) for $280

    Aprox value $150 - 200 each.

    Putting a window in …
    Putting a window in an existing wall would be more difficult. But I planned for this window when I built the wall. We framed it using 2X4 and finished with insulation and gyproc.

    you could easily …
    you could easily spend a lot making an almost soundproof room. It would involve a “floating” floor and double walls and doors. Sort of a room within a room if you will. I didn’t do that …
    I simply made my little room as cheap as I could. I used several layers of sheetrock on the walls and added padding afterwards to dull the sound. Its not truly soundproof but provides enough quiet for my needs :)

    hi im making a studio in my basement at my home. i was wondering if u could help me and tell me wat u recomend i make the walls of. either wood panels or sheetrock and if i should do anything like add any insulation or anything so that the sound is good but almost not loud enough to be herd from outside the room or upstairs. i know its a hard question i just need all the help i can get . thanks plz anyone with info write to me thanks alot.

    i think he means an electrical buzz like from the wires of the lamp being next to the mic wires or something fancy like that, he must be working in a million dollar studio if hes worried about that microbuzz
