Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to use a recording studio?
Author: admin Category: Home Studio SoundproofingI dont really want to make one at home because it seems like that would be more expensive. Like i would have to buy a new computer, a mike, get stuff to soundproof the walls, download software. etc etc.
Depending on where you live, studio time could run as cheaply as $25/hour up to $200-300 including a sound engineer. Do a craigslist search for recording sevices in the community-musicians list. There are usually small studios looking for clients, with some of them owned by multi-instrumentalist musicians/engineers/producers. Don’t just hire the first one, visit two or three and get a feel for the place/person(s) involved. Even home studios these days are well set-up. Sound-proofing isn’t everything, it’s usually the person behind the mixing board and what they can do with the equipment and talent that counts. Good luck!
