How To Have A Home Studio on $500.00 DIY Beatmaking to Live Recording on the Cheap!

Author: admin Category: Home Music Studio

A quick little video, occasionally rambling, but pretty informative, on how I setup my home studio to do everything from beatmaking to live recording and mixing on $500.00. I showcase all the different gear I use, less time spent on the micrphones though as this comes more down to personal preference for gear, and list brands of comparable products for quality and price etc. If you have any questions please ask and I will do a follow up video! Also I will be handling any request for future videos if there is anything you wanna know about!

Gear Used:

Alesis Multimix8 USB Mixer
M-Audio Axiom 25 USB Midi Controller
M-Audio Audiophile AV40 Studio Monitors
Condenser Microphones

Check out my review of the Monster Beats by Dr. Dre headphones two part series! Thanks for all the subscribers and kind words!

I record backing tracking for beatmaking with Reason 4, and for inputing live instruments I mostly use Garageband or Cubase. Audacity is some decent freeware but it might still be in beta.

The ART MP preamp is a really good buy if you want a cheap setup, the phantom power is a really nice addition as well. If you dont have the money for a full mixer, or only need one input, it is a good purchase for most users!
