With interfaces, microphones, software, instruments (keyboard and guitar are an essential), and soundproofing you’re looking at no less than about $3000 (could go up into the $5000 area, depending on the quality of the gear and what software you decide to use).

any "average" sounding home studio is gonna cost upwards of 1-5 grand or more. You will need good studio monitors, sound proofing the room, mics, an iso booth, and a place to create the master copies. All in all, home studios arent cheap, but they are worth it in the long run.
