Home Theater Digital HD Projectors

There are hardly any electronics items sold these days without the word digital showing up somewhere on the packaging. In the previous two decades, the advances of digital technology has reliably been leap after leap, and home theater systems are no outlier to this. A short while ago, a home theater system was thought of as good if you had a large, grainy television and a good stereo surround sound system. But, with the advent of superior digital technologies, home theaters have become both more complex and more expensive.

Home theater LCD projectors have varied greatly since their presentation to the public. In the beginning, the gargantuan size coupled with the swollen price of a projector were unrealistic for all but the extremely wealthy. The vast majority of home theater users weren’t actually in homes.  Initially, it was only colleges and major businesses that could afford such costs. Today, however, affordable and convenient projectors can be bought from an electronics outlet or online, and offer a thrilling experience to individuals who thought they’d never afford a home theater system.

When deciding which DLP projector to purchase, you must first decide the area it will be best suited. Ensure that the image presented is appropriately sized and that the projector is appropriate to the size of the chosen room. Once that is taken care of, you must settle on a location for the projector, which may constitute mounting to the ceiling or simply placing it on a table.

Certainly, the factor that varies the most from model to model is brightness. A 1,000 lumen projector would be bright enough for a area without windows or natural light. Whereas, if you are in a room with any kind of extra light, you will need greater than 1500 lumen. If you get a projector with too few, you will have difficulties seeing the picture.

The resolution, or quality of the image, is available in various resolutions for house projectors. The smallest resolution standard right now is called SVGA which sits at 800×600. With a smaller picture size, this resolution is passable, but better resolutions are definitely worth the additional money put on them. Resolutions are easily standard across the board, including XGA (1024×768), WXGA (1280-768), SXGA (1400×1050), 720p (1280×720), 1080p (1920×1080), and 1080i. As far as high definition resolutions are concerned, none even deserve comparison to the revered 1080P. was the top of the line, but 1080P has recently won that title. 1080 is a reference to the number of lines of resolution.

You may be in for a surprise if you’re looking for a projector, with the realization of how many low cost home multimedia projectors there are. Often for less than $1500, you can purchase a projector that will transform your home into a personal movie theater. As soon as you have decided upon your home theater projector, there is still much more work to be done. To create the quintessential home theater experience, you will need a quality audio system and, of course, the most comfortable of comfortable chairs.
