If you have the ...
If you have the space and the band is practiced up and ready, id say record the band together, that way the band works off eachothers energy(good performanc) If you have a small recording spot you can multitrack.. I do both depending on the setting and they both work great!!

I remember reading ...
I remember reading about several Christians bands that did that, although I don't remember which albums it were mentioned. I do remember that I didn't like those CD's as much as the ones they produced the traditional way, though.

The first thing I ...
The first thing I always make is a click track to get the tempo locked in. Then, on top of that, I record a rough run-through of the song to serve as a template for the rest. From there on out, I'd go rhythm section first. But different people do it different ways...

Thanks! I think I'd ...
Thanks! I think I'd record drums first, then bass, then the two guitars, then vocals. What do you think? I don't have space to record the whole band, and I only have one iMac with one input.

There's no one ...
There's no one right way to do it. For a live recording, you do record everything at once (and add to or correct parts later in the studio). For a studio album, it's most common to record things separately, although there are those that record the band all at one in different rooms of the studio time to get a more organic feel.

So you're supposed ...
So you're supposed to record the whole band together? Not one at a time? What about the vocals? Are they recorded with the band, or are they recorded over the instrumental parts? Thanks!
