Anyone know a Pittsburgh area home music studio tutor/helper?
Author: admin Category: Home Music StudioI’m a serious lifelong musician that just bought a very good offline computer for Cubase/Fruityloops/Reason digital recording, and I have a keyboard, guitars, microphones etc…I have all the gear I need to get started, except my weakness is i am NOT AT ALL educated on the technical recording stuff, as in I don’t know how to set up all my gear, and after it’s set up correctly, I could use some pointers on what some of the features are on my Cubase software. I’m a smart guy so I’d be a fast learner if someone could explain some of this information to me in everyday language, but the manuals for my equipment are so jargon-filled that I get frustrated and lose focus.
I’d be willing to pay a Pittsburgh-area person with top-notch expertise on home recording, if he/she would be willing to help set my studio up correctly, and then educate me on how to use my gear. But I can’t find a soul around here. Anyone know anybody? I got the music skills, just not the technical savvy. please help!
I know this does not answer your question directly but hopefully it helps. I would suggest calling Pittsburgh Film Makers. I know that you are not doing film but they might be able to direct you in the right direction. You might also want to contact CMU. Here is a link to a student’s (I think) web-site that uses Cubase.

His e-mail is on his web-site but here it is just in case.
