What would happen if the underwater sound barrier was broken?
Author: admin Category: 5Suppose a torpedo or underwater vessel could break the ~3,350mph sound barrier. What would happen, compared to breaking the sound barrier on land/in air?
Be as specific and detailed as you like. I can handle it
Apparently it's already been done. The article doesn't talk about the effects of traveling supersonic in water, but sounds pretty cool anyhow.

i am merely theorizing here, but i would assume a sonic boom in water… that results in waves of sound pushing water in conical waves with it. if you were in the water with it the pressure would likely destroy your ear drums, if not blood vessels in your mind that would kill you. visibly, i would say just rings of bubbles around the object though.
EDIT: as i said, the bubbles would be around it, theoretically forming a "supercavitiy." I don't know how much i trust that source or it's info, but there it is
