what happens when the sound barrier is broken?

Author: admin Category: 5

i know there’s a sonic boom, and i realize i sound like a dumb blonde, but i can’t find anything explaining what exactly happens. help?
thanks yall

It’s related to something called a shock wave.

The basic principle is that when something travels faster than the speed of sound in a particular medium, it generates shock waves. These shock waves lead to the sonic booms. The wiki entry on sonic booms is actually decent, and rather than have me reproduce a somewhat mangled interpretation, I’m just going to provide the link:

you have to take it back to the store. like when the hubbel telescope broke. luckily they still had the receipt, so were able to get another one.
