That question will …
That question will just have to go unanswered. The Air Force still has never declassified the top speed of the SR-71. The Foxbat is, supposedly, capable of just a hair over mach 3. I’m pretty sure they never caught any of the probable SR-71 overflights. Well, none that the American people have been told of anyway.
?Why do people insist on continuing the discussion? We already know that it is an F-14!

The SR71 was also designed as a fighter. It was called the YF-12(?). The Phoenix missile was used as it’s primary armament. This was long before the F-14 was anything but a sketch.

It is not the only aircraft that brakes sound barrier dude and also not the fastest aircraft his top speed is 2.485 km/h and F-15 Strike Eagle can do 2,660+ km/h and that is one of the fastest Jet Fighter aircraft`s on face of Earth and also there is Su-37 Terminator who can also make 2,660+ km/h speed… info more!
